Lumine awakens five hundred years after being separated from her brother by the "Sustainer of Heavenly Principles," also known as the Unknown God. Unlike native residents, she possesses no Vision yet wields multiple elements as she progresses through the story. Her journey takes her to Mondstadt, where she helps repel the dragon Stormterror and purify Dvalin from Abyss Order corruption. She later discovers her sibling leads the Abyss Order, a major antagonistic faction opposing the Heavenly Principles. Traveling to Liyue, she meets Zhongli during the Rite of Descension, which ends with the Geo Archon seemingly assassinated. Suspected alongside Paimon, she aids Zhongli in preparing the Rite of Parting and eventually defeats the ancient god Osial summoned by Tartaglia. Investigations with Dainsleif lead to further encounters with her sibling, who urges the Traveler to continue across Teyvat.
