Lore & Background
Long ago, Barbatos was a spirit of the wind who wandered Teyvat until he formed a pact with Dainsleif and Prince Decarabian. Together, they overthrew the tyrannical dragon Durin, liberating the people from his oppressive rule. Afterward, Barbatos assumed the title of Anemo Archon but chose to live among mortals in disguise rather than ruling from a throne. He guided Mondstadt through its darkest hours, often intervening subtly when the city's freedom was threatened by external forces or internal corruption.
In Their Own Story
The evening breeze carried the scent of dandelions as Venti sat upon the bell tower, his lyre resting on his knee. Below, the city of Mondstadt bustled with life, unaware that its protector watched over them not as a distant deity, but as a friend sharing in their joys and sorrows. A gust of wind swirled around him, carrying laughter from a tavern below, and he smiled, strumming a soft chord that seemed to harmonize with the very air itself.
Reader's Guide
Venti originates as Barbatos, an ancient spirit who became the Anemo Archon after aiding in the liberation of Mondstadt. His elemental affinity is Anemo, allowing him to manipulate winds and create powerful gusts for combat and exploration. Personality-wise, he is whimsical, mischievous, and deeply values freedom above all else. He often teases others but possesses a profound wisdom born from centuries of observation. His voice lines reflect his love for music, wine, and the simple pleasures of life, often delivered with a playful tone. He shares close bonds with many characters in Mondstadt, particularly Diluc and Jean, whom he guided during their formative years.
