Crystallize occurs when an active Geo element interacts with Pyro, Hydro, Electro, Cryo, Dendro, or Anemo on a target or character. Unlike other reactions that consume elements, Crystallize generates a shield based on the triggering element's type. The shield's strength is determined by the character's Elemental Mastery and their maximum HP at the moment of creation. Higher stats result in more durable barriers that last longer against incoming damage. Each element produces a unique visual effect for the shield, though all provide flat damage reduction regardless of the enemy's attack type. Optimal team compositions often feature a Geo support like Zhongli or Noelle to apply shields consistently while a main DPS deals damage. Characters with high Elemental Mastery maximize shield potency, making them ideal for surviving heavy hits from bosses or elite enemies in Spiral Abyss floors.
