Melt functions as an amplifying reaction, meaning it increases the damage of the triggering attack rather than dealing independent damage. This distinction is crucial for team building and character selection. To maximize Melt, teams typically require a dedicated Cryo or Pyro applicator paired with an on-field trigger. For example, Kazuha or Venti can apply elements quickly, but specialized supports like Kokomi (Hydro) are not used here; instead, characters like Kaeya, Ganyu, or Eula provide the necessary Cryo aura. Conversely, Bennett, Xiangling, or Hu Tao provide Pyro. Weapon choice matters significantly for triggering characters. Catalysts and Bows often allow for rapid application of elements without consuming too much energy, while Claymores can hit multiple enemies but may consume status faster. Elemental Mastery is the most vital stat for Melt teams, directly scaling the reaction damage multiplier. Optimal compositions often include a sub-DPS to apply the secondary element, an on-field DPS to trigger the reaction, and support units that provide Energy Recharge or ATK buffs to sustain this high-damage cycle.
